From the MOUn.tain.tops, let Love Jones ring!

I shared my Love Jones DVD with a coworker...a white boy, y'all. He loved Love Jones. When he told me, I just wanted to shed a tear.

I feel like so many people missed out on Love Jones 'cause it was an all black cast and it wasn't a comedy or hood drama. I just want people to know Love Jones and to love Love Jones like so many people I know do.

Is that alright?

"speak nappy head..." girl, i sing the praises of Love Jones, to any and all who will hear. i think that if it came out now, it would get a better reception. it was just SO unusual back when it came out to have a movie like that about us, that i think it just got ignored.

oh lord, i just read your random confession....

I think this was definitely one of the most underrated movies of all time. I think we should do like they do with the Rocky Horror Picture show. I bet people will come, poets and non.

I saw it when it came out (I remember there weren't a whole lot of people in the theatre) and it started my crush on Isaiah Washington (thank goodness for "Grey's Anatomy"). Hard to believe that was almost 10 years ago. I loved it, and keep meaning to rewatch it but just haven't gotten to it. I'm glad you're spreading the word!

I'm going to put it on my Netflix list now.

This post is in Austinist's best of the blogs for this week.

Great blog! I just found you on the Austinist's Best also. Congratulations on the recognition!

I love "Love Jones!" In my opinion it is one the best movies of all time. I saw it in the theater and my crush for Isaiah started then too!

I have never been one to buy videos or DVDs; I always rent, but I had the tape. It was a gift. Then when I got a DVD player, I bought the DVD. This is one of those movies to just watch and enjoy over a lifetime. I will buy it in every form that it is produced in. It is that good!

The author's publicist is a fan of my blog and sent me a copy, which she predicted I'd enjoy. She was so right. It took me forever to finish because I've been very preoccupied with my life this year. I'm positive no story has ever affected me as much as this one. I'm affected and changed by having read this novel.
